Curated by Nazanin Noori, Orakel Cast 117 gathers a selection of hypnotic classical works under the motto “Were I to assemble a tribute for philanthropy, it would be this” – including compositions by Julius Eastman, Joy Guidry, Behzad Abdi and more.

Orakel Cast 116 drifts with NVST on a morning boat ride – a purely musical selection that moves from the hush of first light to the sharper brilliance of the rising sun, featuring music by trickpony, Fergus Jones, hoodie & james K, and a classic from Kelis.

Liquid Earth takes us deep into the swirling digital vortex of his early years, growing up as a suburban closet kid amid the pixelated absurdity of pre-millennial America. Orakel Cast 115 channels internet ephemera and pop culture detritus – from the legendary E.L.F.S. scene in The Santa Clause (1994) and a lush demo of the Jurgen Haible Krautrock Phaser to DJ X ringing in the year 2000 at Cyberzone Orlando and a full-playthrough of Diddy Kong Racing.

For Orakel Cast 114, Italian composer Marta De Pascalis offers a playlist of poetic and sonic impressions – including a legendary harp solo from Alice Coltrane, Werner Herzog’s pursuit of 'pure images', a full concert by Franco Battiato in Baghdad from 1992, and reflections on re-enchantment in the contemporary world by Verónica Gago and Silvia Federici.

For Orakel Cast 113, Amsterdam-based selector Orpheu The Wizard turns inward – tracing the sonic and social contours of the city’s 1990s counterculture through a deeply personal selection. Based around archived broadcasts from Radio 100, a local pirate station, early footage from squats like ADM and the Graansilo, street rave scenes, and a live set by Orlando Voorn at Paradiso in 1993.

Orakel Cast 112 by Atoloi is a poetic dérive through Italian memory fragments – including Nanni Moretti counting the time he has left while discarding years of clippings, Tognazzi’s wry lesson on capitalism from La vita agra (1964), and Offlaga Disco Pax’s Respinti all’uscio, accompanied by imagery of vintage Italian life.

Orakel Cast 111 is curated by Adi, a Colombian artist based in Brussels. In her selection, Adi presents a selected journey through various artistic expressions. Highlights include William Forsythe's 1987 ballet In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated, featuring Sylvie Guillem and Laurent Hilaire; the documentary Dr. Masaru Emoto Hado Water Crystals, which presents the hypothesis that human consciousness can influence the structure of water; a 2013 studio visit with Andrew Weatherall at Rotters Golf Club; and Sun Ra's Space Is the Place, a seminal work in Afrofuturism.

Seana Gavin curates Orakel Cast 110 – a measured selection of archival material, music videos, and documentary fragments. Recently having published Spiralled, a book on the UK’s free party movement which included sound systems such as Spiral Tribe, her selection reflects on this period through historical footage and associative references. The cast includes early 90s rave anthems such as Voodoo Ray, Little Fluffy Clouds and Papua New Guinea, alongside fragments from documentaries on UFO sightings, fungi ecosystems, and solar phenomena.

Jonathan Castro, Peruvian designer and multidisciplinary artist currently working as art director of Dekmantel Festival, curates Orakel Cast 109 – a selection of videos that have resonated with him over the past 15 years, including SPK's From Science to Ritual album, the fast and raw energy of the Latino hardcore band Los Crudos from Chicago performing during daylight at Daley Plaza in 1993, and Dakim’s 2013 Boiler Room performance. Jonathan also includes a lecture by Cornel West examining the politics of struggle in Spiritual Blackout, Imperial Meltdown, Prophetic Fightback, closing his selection with some wild Unboxing Free Jazz.

Orakel Cast 108 curated by Spray offers a focused look into British underground music culture and beyond – featuring documentaries on Sasha & Digweed and Global Underground, alongside interviews such as Future Sound of London from 1992, DJ tricks by James Zabiela, and the classic PS22 Chorus rendition of Björk's "Jóga".

For Orakel Cast #107, Daisy Moon delves into the intersection of performance, choreography, and interdisciplinary work. Her selection features videos such as Fase, Four Movements to the Music of Steve Reich by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, a documentary on Daphne Oram, a pioneer of British electronic music, and a live performance by Beatrice Dillon featuring Lucy Railton and Kenichi Iwasa, among others.

Zeynep curates a diverse selection for Orakel Cast #106, blending music, fashion, and culture. Her playlist features Shayef el Bahr by Fairuz, a classic from the renowned Lebanese singer, Vivienne Westwood’s Anglomania runway show from 1993, an acid-jazz anthem with vocals by Gee Morris, and an opera written and directed by Dean Blunt, with music by Mica Levi.

Eoin DJ curates Orakel Cast #105 with a deep dive into British and Irish culture featuring a 1997 Channel 4 documentary about Trade, the legendary after-hours club night at Turnmills, KLF’s infamous burning of £1,000,000, the speed garage anthem Voyager 1.56 by Mr. Spring, and cinematic moments from Gregg Araki’s Nowhere movie and Patrick Nation’s surreal documentary Terre Thaemlitz: Give Up On Hopes And Dreams.

For Orakel Cast #104, Luce Clandestina presents a 27-piece playlist featuring musical treats and interviews–including Italian designer Ettore Sottsass reflecting on the pursuit of truth, Roza Terenzi's latest downtempo exploration, and a live performance by The Orb in 1995–alongside a selection of timeless classics and contemporary sounds that have shaped Luce’s sound research over the years.

Byron Yeates' selection, the longest yet with 84 videos, offers a diverse mix of content. Highlights include Scotto.tv, which captures the influential New York shop Liquid Sky that defined 90s club wear, Leigh Bowery pushing fashion boundaries, a TV show by Sofia Coppola and Zoe Cassavetes exploring 90s pop culture, and Nikolai Ursin’s Behind Every Good Man (1967), offering a glimpse into the life of an African-American trans woman.

In episode 102, Richard Akingbehin curates a selection of videos that have profoundly influenced his musical sensibilities over the years – including John Akomfrah's visionary film The Last Angel of History, a legendary Risky Roadz clip capturing a defining moment in UK grime history, a sound work by Emeka Ogboh exploring the resonant energy of Lagos, a timeless dub-techno mix by Scion, and a nostalgic heavyweight from the Dubstep Forum archives. Turn up.

Orakel Cast #101, curated by Alicia Carrera, presents a carefully selected collection of artistic films, including a late '80s CG clip by John Berton Jr., a video by the legendary band DIN A Testbild featuring visuals by David Vostell from 1982, an excerpt from Rosa von Praunheim's 1990 landmark movie Positive, depicting the AIDS crisis in New York City, and Len Lye's avant-garde 1958 film Free Radicals.

Die Orakel celebrates Orakel Cast #100 with a clip trip by Gerd Janson that features it all: intellectual vanities by Hannah Arendt in conversation with Günther Gaus, videos for Ultra Naté and Grand Puba, DJ coaching from Biz Markie as well as rare interviews with the late Tee Scott (plus tear-jerking live footage from a Japan gig) or Larry Levan. There is also a brilliant documentary about afrofuturism and its link to Detroit techno Called The Last Angel of History. If that‘s too much talking, please skip to a live mix from Carl Craig on German TV or DJ Hell‘s eternal mixtape masterpiece for the now classic DJ-Kicks predecessor X-Mix. Video killed the radio star once more.

OKO DJ has curated her favorite internet discoveries across topics like spirituality, metal music, death positivity, and lovely animals for the new Orakel Cast. Her selection includes videos ranging from Hitachi glitch and a legendary Prince statement to a visit to Stonehenge by parapsychologist Dolores Cannon.

For episode #98, Ece Özel unveils an eclectic collection of online gems, from a vintage Jean-Michel Basquiat interview to her coveted pancake recipe, and sounds of sir Andrew Weatherall.

Orakel Cast 97 comes from Lauer who has selected an obscure mix of videos such as Ilja Karilampi's 'The Chief Architect of Gangsta Rap', a Dutch Viewlexx classic, footage of a concert by Lauer's grindcore band Destroyér and a documentary of Kiel street gangs with legendary Bernd Knauer from 1991.

Orakel Cast brings you a peek into the online video viewing habits of our artists and friends. This episode comes from Jenny Cara, who has put together a strictly musical selection for the 96th instalment of the Orakel Cast – including Die Orakel collaborator Belia Winnewisser, Xzavier Stone's homage to an iconic baggy jeans cut and an alt-pop masterpiece by Bayli.

The 95th Orakel Cast by T.V.S.T. is an obscure selection of videos – including Peter Campus' Three Transitions video from 1973, How to Operate Your Brain – a trippy user manual by Timothy Leary and Rob Halford of Judas Priest singing in court.

Orakel Cast #94 by Xiaolin is a multi-layered selection of her key influences across animation, retro games and films – featuring the final scene of Studio Ghibli's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind with music by Joe Hisaishi, the 8-bit intro of the 1993 computer game Myst and an electro masterpiece by Andrea Parker.

The 93rd Orakel Cast comes from Golden Pudel legend Ralf Köster. His video selection features a Rosaceae performance, music from artists like Speckmann, Palais Schaumburg and School Of Zuversicht as well as a rare interview with Helena Hauff – and is dedicated to his late friends Jonas Mekas, Klaus Lemke and DJ Patex.

In the Orakel Cast #92, James K shows a selection of her favourite internet obscurities – including the short film 'Dear Janice' directed by Adam Beckett from 1972, a nipple-stabilized ski video, David Lynch's PlayStation commercial and music by the Icelandic band múm.

Philipp Otterbach has been digging deep into the archives for Orakel Cast 91. His selection includes obscure and experimental material such as the video for 'Pain' by Howl in the Typewriter, a documentary on the making of the film 'More' from 1969 and the legendary concert by Joe Zawinul & Trilok Gurtu in Frankfurt in 1994.

In Diamin's Orakel Cast #90, she weaves together videos from the realms of nature, retro-futurism, and human emotionality in a very personal selection – including a legendary prison scene from Kim Ki-duk's 3-Iron movie, sounds made by waddell seals in the Antartica, and the original conversation between Ricki Lee Jones and Levar Burton used by The Orb for "Little Fluffy Clouds".

Super Venus delivers a 16-piece vintage video playlist – including Michèle Mouton's declaration of love for the Audi Quattro noise, a Björk live performance from 1997, and Pipilotti Rist's audio-visual installation 'Ever Is Over All'.

The 88th edition by Moopie is a selection of 11 audio visual stimulations – featuring music videos by Pale Saints, Capricorn, TV on the Radio and many more.

Pavel Milyakov also known as Buttechno delivers a 31 video strong playlist, featuring a Spacemen 3 live performance from 1989 and music by Valentina Goncharova, Lorenzo Senni, Earth and many more.

BSS delivers a video playlist full of personal favourites – including Ed van der Elsken's "My Amsterdam" movie from 1982, a Factory Records documentary and a Portishead live performance.

Episode 85 by LUZ1E is an all-musical playlist that spans from IDM to electro – including brand new music by Gladstone Deluxe, INVT & Logan_olm and Generali Minerali.

For episode 84, Soos has compiled a 29-piece strong playlist that includes early CGI animations, a live show by Fugazi, Mexican food culture, a performance of Soos' favourite singer Juan Gabriel from 1990, and many more.

In episode #83, Budino shares some of her favourite vintage clips from her music icons – such as Suzanne Ciani's appearance on the David Letterman Show 1980, a Xymox live concert from 1986 and The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld.

Kasra V has selected films and live music performances that have had a lasting impact on him - featuring footage from 'Gabbeh' a 1996 Iranian film directed by Mohsen Makhmalbaf, Leila live at Sonar Festival in 2008 and 'F for Fake' by Orson Welles from 1973.

For episode #81, Soyoon has put together a musical playlist that spans genres like synth-pop, alternative rock and IDM - including footage from The Irresistible Force, a classic by Cabaret Voltaire and The Cult's She Sells Sanctuary from 1985.

The 80th Orakel Cast by N.J. Quist is a collection of videos consisting of visual and musical inspiration for his artistic practice, as well as obscure videos found during the compilation of the playlist – including a 1999 Prince concert film, footage dealing with the Comics Code Authority introduced in 1954 and a lecture by the AA School of Architecture about 'Space, Electronic: Radical Architecture of the Night'.

Episode #79 comes from Wicked Bass Records founder Noizar. His selection unintentionally reflects his new reality away from his home in Kyiv – including an excerpt from the film 'Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors' from 1965, a documentary from 1989 about the Amsterdam airport Schipol and Prinx Hashime's set from Strichka Festival 2020.

Orakel Cast #78 is presented by Gurl from the Planet collective. She has compiled a 19-video playlist which transcends through meditation, breathing exercices and sound. The playlist can be played so that it functions as a long practice with a time for arriving/settling in, practice, sound experiences, talks, and so forth. For those who don't want to practice, it can just serve as a regular music playlist with experimental music, ambient & spoken word.

Die Orakel (Engl. the oracles) might not know it all but has the capacity to observe and sense it: Oliver Hafenbauer’s imprint operates as an experimental field for electronic music on the playfully indecisive end where it exceeds genre-specificity to focus on tunes that function beyond. This is not to say that there are no four-to-the-floor productions. The Frankfurt-based label features contributions by artists like Black Merlin, Edward, Roman Flügel, upsammy or Orson Wells, all known as dance floor doyens. The releases yet encompass what can slip the attention on a traditional dance label. Uplifting and downtempo appear here as two categories that do not exclude each other. The visual representation of the venture is undertaken by Studio Michael Satter, Stefan Haag and label boss Oliver Hafenbauer himself, who have a clear approach to communicating Die Orakel’s standards.
